Hoosier Films is your gateway to independent film in Indiana.
Launched in 2019 by two native Hoosiers, husband and wife team Thomas DeCarlo and Meredith McGriff, Hoosier Films was created to address the lack of awareness of the thriving independent film scene in Indiana.
Hoosier Films is a multi-platform distribution service featuring Indiana-based films and filmmakers. Based in Bloomington, Indiana, we’re committed to supporting and promoting filmmakers throughout the state with an online streaming platform and live screenings. Our 50/50 profit share on streaming is the best in the industry, and filmmakers also receive 80% of net sales on digital downloads, a higher return than any other platform.
Our streaming service launched in September 2019, and the mobile cinema pilot program began in October 2019. The festival began in 2020. We’re excited to support our film community with this multi-day event!

With dozens of films, including a feature film each evening and two full days of themed short film blocks, this festival is your gateway to local independent film. Enjoy award-winning films from a tremendous variety of genres. Meet filmmakers from around the state and learn about their work during interactive Q&A sessions. Starting in 2022, the Hoosier Films Annual Festival will be held at the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater and additional venues around downtown Bloomington, Indiana. Our face-to-face festivals will also include workshops for filmmakers (both aspiring and established), which will help you grow your network and spark new ideas with potential collaborators.
